In a month filled with vibrancy and achievement, Sonia Sotomayor Elementary School, home to the spirited Lobos, marked numerous milestones and celebrated a diverse range of activities throughout February.
The school embraced a literary atmosphere with two exciting author visits where students had the unique opportunity to engage with talented writers, sparking inspiration and fostering a love for reading among young minds.
February, being Black History Month, was commemorated with enthusiasm. Students participated in discussions, exploring the rich heritage and significant contributions of African Americans throughout history.
Kindness took center stage as the school dedicated the month to promoting compassion and empathy. Initiatives were undertaken to encourage acts of kindness, creating a positive and inclusive environment within the school community.
Sonia Sotomayor Elementary School also took pride in the recognition of its exceptional educators. Several teachers were nominated for the prestigious Teacher of the Year award, showcasing the commitment and dedication they bring to their classrooms.
